Unspoken

The focus of the Unspoken project is to create a space where young people felt safe and confident in discussing their thoughts and feelings about the world around them. Many of our young people spoke about the pressure to meet set expectations both socially and in education, other expressed their struggles faced being neurodiverse and some chose to address how they feel about the global state, human rights and war.

Empower leaders have guided these young people without filtering or shaping their opinions. This is an opportunity for young people to speak out about things they may not discuss or express in their everyday lives.

At Empower, it's important our young people feel heard and seen so at the end of this project, we spent a day on set, filming the performances. We then also recorded some Empower Podcast episodes to hear more from our young people and the extended thoughts behind their writing.
